This May, AZ celebrates our sixth Birthday. For over half a decade we’ve been amplifying the voices of LGBTQPOC and creating content that doesn’t just validate but exalts the range of lived experiences within our often-silenced communities. We want to celebrate this achievement with the people who made it all possible, you guys, our incredible intersectional audience!
From May 14th we’re bringing you a weekend of fantastic events as part of our Birthday Extravaganza:
Friday 14th at 7:30pm, Nana Duncan and Rose Frimpong, AZ faves and presenters of the hilarious Two Twos Podcast, will be hosting a clubhouse room where we can kiki collectively about our wildest clubbing experiences. It’ll be a safe space to reminisce about the joys and jeopardies of pre-pandemic turn-ups and even if you don’t have any stories of your own to share, come along for the laughs because Nana and Rose are guaranteed to bring the energy.
Saturday 15th at 6:30pm, Zoe Adjonyoh, of Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen, will be guiding us through a cooking class. The Brixton restaurant owner and cookbook author dedicates her time to bringing authentic, contemporary Ghanaian cooking to the masses. If you’re a foodie, looking to try delicious new things in the kitchen or interested in how recipes can connect us to our roots, this one’s for you.
Our next AZ Virtual hub will be taking place on Sunday 16th at 3:00pm and will be a celebratory social space for members of the AZ community to buss jokes, enjoy performances, a panel and just generally mingle after such a tumultuous and isolating past year.
We can’t wait to connect with you all!
