BBZ BLK BK Alternative Graduate Show is BACK!

BBZ BLK BK: Alternative Graduate Show is BACK! Giving all black queer womxn, trans and non-binary artists in the UK a space, platform and opportunity to make sure they showcase their work to be seen and heard the way it should be. Now in partnership with DAZED, BBZ is calling for all black queer artists to submit their work as this year’s submissions are now OPEN! The alternative graduate show is not just a celebration of black queer womxn, trans and non-binary in the arts but a way to challenge what it means to ‘identify’.

In order to submit, you must be a queer womxn, trans or non-binary artist of black ancestry based in the UK and Ireland aged 18 and over. You must have a body of work spanning a minimum of 3 years OR have graduated from a practice-based arts degree to participate in a group show. The show will see its return to Copeland Gallery London from the 18th August to 3rd September 2019. Submission Deadline is 10th June 2019. For more information on submission requirements visit www.bbzblkbk.com.

Artists will be selected by 2019’s Guest Co-Curator Deborah Joyce-Holman and a panel of established artists, curators, performers and cultural workers who we feel share our vision of uplifting our community including Lynette Yiadom-Boakye, Ain Bailey, Phoebe Collings-James, Jamila Johnson-Small, and Travis Alabanza. Last year’s show, which saw BBZ and Imani Robinson & Rabz Lansiquot of sorryyoufeeluncomfortable showcase ten artists and their powerful amazing work at Copeland Gallery.
